Review
Ever wonder how fast the world fell apart in the world of The Walking Dead. Thanks to Telltale Games you can peek through the curtains, just be quiet and make sure there are no walkers peeking back.
Play as Lee Everrett, a convict trying to survive as the world falls apart and the dead take over. The game plays like a video game version of the Choose Your Own Adventure novels many of us loved as kids. The choices you make open up different story outcomes, some where Lee survives, some where he doesn’t.

Unfortunately the choices seem to be few and episode one seemed more like watching an interactive movie than playing a game. This still worked for me. I love a good story and I am a huge Walking Dead fan, so I’m the prime target audience for this game. It’s a good thing there are a lot of gamers who share my interests, because to purchase the full five episodes is just over $20. I could not see anyone outside of the hardcore fan base paying that price for the full season.

That doesn’t mean the game isn’t fun. Playing through each choice, and watching how the story progresses, is addictive. Lee has to make some hard choices and the outcomes can be gruesome.

Episode 1 is free and certainly worth downloading, especially if you are a fan of the show or comic.
