In % the rules are easy to follow. You are given a statement or a picture and you have to guess what % of the population replied to in response. Finding the answers are not always so easy though.

Some things are obvious, such as finding a pencil in a pencil case, but sometimes answers you expect to find are not listed, and ones you never would have thought of appear. It is interesting to see what the answers of % of the population are, but also a fun challenge to try and guess.

What is good about this game is that it not only recognises synonyms, but also the difference between British and American English. For example, when I typed in 'rubber', it knew that this was what Americans call an 'eraser', so accepted the answer.

Out of curiosity, I would be interested to know just how widespread this survey of % of the population is. How many people did they ask? What medium did they use to ask (online, face to face)? Did they vary the age of the people they asked? Where did the people come from - were they all American, or were Canadians, Brits, and Aussies included to? I assume they only asked those of English speaking countries, particularly since the question about words beginning with the letter Y would clearly not work.

If you do get stuck then you can always ask for a hint. For the first hint, you get given a grid to show how many letters there are, and possible letters that might go in those spaces. For following hints, you can either reveal a correct letter or remove and incorrect letter from the grid.

My only gripe about the hints is how many tokens they cost. You earn tokens by completing each level, but it costs far more tokens to buy a hint than it does for what you earn in guessing them.

With eighty-five levels, you'll be kept occupied for a long time, and it is great fun to get the thinking cap on and try to come up with all the answers.
