While trying to bury is acorn, Scrat has managed to split the ice and form the beginning of several continents. Unfortunately, Sid's friends are now stranded on separate island ice floes, and it is up to him to come to the rescue.

The aim of the game is to travel from island to island to reunite the herd. You do this by clearing trees, collecting treasure, and playing various mini games.

In one mini game you go tobogganing, navigating your way past obstacles on a piece of bark, to collect your friends. The controls are easy to use, just swipe your finger to move left, right, and jump.

The other mini game involves making hearts fall to the bottom of a grid by match up three images in a row. I enjoy this game, but it is too short, and needs to be more challenging.

Once you have rescued a member of the herd, you take them back to the mainland, and build them a home. To build a home and achieve other tasks requires food such as berries and acorns. You can collect these on your journey, or buy them from the shop.

Parents have the ability to stop purchases being made, so their children don't spend lots of money on virtual currency without permission.

If you love the Ice Age film series, then you'll probably love playing Ice Age: Adventures for Android and iOS systems. The graphics are beautiful, and the dialogue entertaining, and the characters sound just like they do in the films.
