I am familiar with many solitaire card games, but had never heard of tripeaks until finding a version on Google Play.

Free to download for Android, GSN adapt the traditional card game into a fun interactive adventure, in which you travel different tropical islands with your guide, Tiki, and his dog Poi. There are over three hundred levels, each of which have beautiful graphics and animation.

The aim of the game is to get all the cards into a pile by matching them with a higher or lower figure. For example, if there is a 2 in your pile, then you can put either and Ace or a 3 on top.

The cards are spread so that several facing cards are covering down turned cards. These cards can only be revealed once the facing cards have been placed on the pile.

If you cannot find a suitable card from the spread, then you must pick up from the deck until you can play. You win if you get all of your cards in the pile, but lose if you run out of cards in your deck beforehand.

There is a chance to rescue yourself if this happens. At the beginning of the game you are given a certain amount of coins. These coins can be used for various purposes, such as using power ups, undoing a turn, and providing you with more cards if you run out.

The first time you do this, the price is pretty reasonable, but each time the cost of getting new cards goes up (250, 500, 1000, etc). As the levels get more difficult, it becomes impossible to win without adding new cards, but by doing this you will quickly run out of coins.

There are many ways of earning coins. First is by creating streaks during the game. This is when you are able to play a card five times in a row without picking up. Second is by winning a game. You can also request free coins every twenty minutes or get coins by watching adverts. The other way to get coins is by spending real money to get them.

Apart from the disproportionate ratio of how many coins you can earn compared to how many you need to play, is lots of fun.
