    Review
Much like Kingdom Rush: Frontiers , Origins takes the excellent format laid down by the original and adds new maps, new towers, new enemies, new heroes, and new items to be purchased with gems.

Every aspect of the game, except the basic format and mechanics (which, let's face it, don't need changing) have had a once-over. I love the new enemies - the cute little mushrooms that explode when threatened, the wolf-like creatures that charge straight past your troops. Not only are they executed imaginatively, they do require you to come up with different strategies and play the game slightly differently to previous enemies.

Every single tower has had a complete overhaul, and although it might take you a while to get used to all the options, they are satisfying and well thought out. The heroes, although irritatingly you still have to pay for extra ones, have had a slight change too. Whereas in the previous game, you had no control over their special power, now it's something you can choose to unleash. It makes each hero a bit more flexible, and does improve the gameplay.

There are also extra little tweaks at the edges of the level - flowers that shoot energy bolts at opponents, and mushrooms that poison passing bad guys, as well as the obligatory enemies to neutralise said weapons.

I like the character of Origins, probably more than I enjoyed Frontiers. My current choice of hero is styled to sound like Legolas, and it amuses me to hear semi-Lord of the Rings quotes in the slightly over-dramatic voice acting.

This is a good addition to the series, and any existing fan will love it. If you haven't tried it yet, it's a good place to start. If you haven't been won over by previous versions though, there is nothing new here that will change your mind!
