Can't avoid mummies from both sides
Scooby Doo is trapped in an Egyptian tomb, surrounded by mummies, and he must run and jump for his life to escape. Sounds like a fun premise to a 2D arcade style side scroller, doesn't it?
Unfortunately if feels like the developers of Scooby Doo: Mummy Run!
got bored part way through development and said, 'hey, what the hell, let's just publish it now.'
The game has no variation in terms of environment or gameplay; it is literally just Scooby running down the same all, and all you have to do is tap the screen to avoid the mummies. The aim is to collect as many coins as you can before you run out of your three lives.
I could put up with the lack of variety if there were achievements and goals - e.g. run X number of metres, avoid X number of mummies, etc, but there isn't.
On top of that, Scooby's reactions to your commands are pretty sluggish, meaning you get caught by a mummy despite tapping to avoid. The length of Scooby's body is also an issue. You might jump to avoid the mummy behind you and land right on top of the mummy in front. Delay jumping any longer, however, and you get caught by the mummy behind.
A game with great potential, but poorly executed.
