Some video games are so complex and immersive that you can buy extensive strategy guides to go with them. These give you loads of extra hints and advice on how to progress. Have you ever bought one? Did you find it useful? Was it worth the money?

I have a few guides but I don't them regularly. The only one I got a lot of use out of was a guide for Everquest two, when it was still new. Now information about most games is just a Google search away.

I've never bought a strategy guide. I've always thought they were too expensive. Apart from The Sims, most of the games I've played haven't need/come with one anyway.

I sometimes buy them for my husband, and he always tells me they are a waste of money. Which is probably true, as I don't buy them for myself, so I am not sure why I buy them for him! The only ones I remember using thoroughly was for Final Fantasy 7 and Final Fantasy 10.
