My favourite PlayStation One series of all time is Crash Bandicoot, and amongst those, Crash Team Racing is my second favourite game of the franchise. I was therefore very excited when I saw that a Crash Bandicoot racing game found its way onto a mobile app. Although I don't usually spend money on apps, I thought paying £2.99 to get a Crash fix was worth it.

With the gameplay itself is great as the controls are easy to use - tilting for directions, tapping for jumping, swiping for drag mode. The graphics for the landscapes are pretty good, although the characters could use some improvement. Crash does look a but odd at times.

There are twelve tracks across three trophy cup tournaments and a Quick Game mode, which takes you into a story with missions to complete. Along with the familar sights of wumpa fruit and question mark boxes for power ups, there is alao a challenge to collect the letters C.R.A.S.H on the course, which allows you to unlock new characters. Whether you are a Crash Bandicoot fan or not, it is definitely one most will enjoy playing.

The only downside - and it is quite a big one - is that if you are playing on an iPod, the game data is too large to create any save spaces. This means that if you exit the game all your progress will be lost. I do not believe this is a problem with tablets or smartphones, but as I have neither of these devices to practice on, I cannot be certain. If you are interested, but don't want to waste your money, I can assure gamers that after contacting Apple, I received a full refund within three days.
