Cars: Fast as Lightening is available on Android and iOS. It is based on the Disney Pixar film,
Cars, and allows you to create your own tracks, race familiar characters, unlock vehicles, courses, and build your own town in order to win the Piston Cup.
Customising your own race course sounds pretty fun, as do the additions available, such as a loopty-loop, canon, and helter skelter. When it comes to actually racing, however, these features couldn't be more dull. There is no skill required to tackle them, as the screen pauses, tells you to tap the screen, and then all the whole process is automatic.
Racing characters is far too easy, and it is less about your skill as a player as it is about buying upgrades to go up against faster cars.
You can by upgrades by building up Radiator Springs with different businesses, such as a garage, petrol station, etc. These businesses generation coins and XP that you can use to unlock other track items.
The most annoying part of this game are the long talky sequences after every race, and the constant game updates that take forever to download. Considering the game is called 'Fast as Lighting', it feels very slow paced.
