Review
Candy Escape Run is kind of like the iOS version of whack-a-mole, and it’s really quite fun. Candies, which in the beginning look a lot like Cabury mini-eggs with legs, run around the screen. The goal is to not allow them to reach the other side of the screen. Candies can go either up and down or left and right. As players progress to higher levels new candies are introduced that run faster and require more taps to destroy.
The simple gameplay and cute graphics makes Candy Escape Run a great game for kids but as the taps need to be precise, I would recommend playing the game on an iPad for younger children as an iPhone may be too small. For adults, the game gets challenging quickly. Before long, players are tapping like made to make it through levels 8 and 9.
Players earn candy money as they play, which can be used to purchase tap upgrades in the shop. There are three upgrades: Tap Radius, Tap Power, and More Life. These upgrades become very important, as the game becomes more challenging.
Candy Escape Run is a little heavy-handed with the ad space, with both bottom ads during gameplay and a full ad in between levels, but it doesn’t seem to take away from the game. Candy Escape Run is available for free in Apple App Store.
